The purchase of the domain name AI.com, which now points to the chatbot, has made it easier to use OpenAI’s ChatGPT than ever. The domain was bought in 2021, but it wasn’t until this week that it started redirecting to the chatbot.
Due to their scarcity and shortness, two-letter.com domain names are regarded as the holy grail of domains and this one was on sale for $11 million. While the ultimate selling price of AI.com is unknown, Jeffrey Gabriel, a domain broker, said that in the current market, a name like this would fetch over $10 million.
With this purchase, ChatGPT reinforces its position as the industry leader for AI chatbots.
