Writeseed review: the best low-budget AI writing tool?

If you don’t pay close attention to the AI writing tools market, it can be hard to differentiate the dozens of AI writing tools that have entered the market in the past few years from each other.

This is part of the reason why we’ve written so many AI writing tools reviews. We want to tell you what makes these sites unique and which ones are worth your money. We’ve taken a look at some of the heavy-hitters, like in our Jasper.ai review, and some lesser-known names, like WordHero

Today, we’re taking a look at another lesser known name called Writeseed. The creator of Writeseed claims their program is the “cheapest Jasper, Copy.ai or Writesonic alternative on the market.” This is a big claim, so we decided to see what Writeseed has to offer for ourselves.

In our opinion, Writeseed is definitely better than a lot of the other low-budget options. However, everything Writeseed has to offer is pretty basic, so we’re not sure if it’s actually better than some of the bigger names, like Jasper.ai and Copy.ai.

Given the low price of $16/month though, we’re not sure you can find a better AI writing program for a lower price.

Features

Writeseed offers a wide variety of tools ranging from an article creator to a tweet generator. They also have a “Pro Mode” tool which works similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Unlike some AI writing programs that have tiered subscriptions limiting which tools you can use, you get unlimited access to all these tools with your Writeseed subscription.

Writeseed pros and cons

To make things simple for you, we’ve compiled a list of pros and cons of what stood out from our time using Writeseed.

Pros

Writeseed offers unlimited words for a very cheap price

If you take anything away from this Writeseed review it should be that Writeseed is very cheap for what it has to offer. For just $16 per month, you can write an unlimited number of words using any of Writeseed’s 40+ tools.

Offering unlimited words used to be a relatively common thing in the AI writing space. As more people started using AI writing programs, the costs of using OpenAI’s API rose, so most AI writing programs have moved away from offering unlimited words.

Because of this, any AI writing program offering unlimited words is going to get huge praise from us.

Writeseed is great for brainstorming

If you couldn’t tell from the list of Writeseed tools, Writeseed has a lot to offer when it comes to helping you get over writer’s block and get inspired. Writeseed has a tool specifically for this purpose, but many other tools will help give you ideas along the way as you use them.

For example, the full-length article tool will not just write the article for you, but also give you ideas for article titles and subjects if you’re struggling to come up with exactly what you want to write about.

The “Pro Mode” tool also is useful for coming up with ideas. It works similar to ChatGPT, so you can ask Writeseed to help you refine your ideas or come up with new ones entirely using just a simple prompt.

Cons

Article generator is less comprehensive than the competition’s

While we generally think Writeseed’s full-length article writer is a good tool, especially for brainstorming, it didn’t blow us away. This is because it is fairly limited in what you can actually control.

The best AI article generators are easy-to-use, but also give you enough control to finetune every aspect of the article. In the case of Writeseed’s article generator, it’s very easy to use, but you really only have control over the title and two subheadings.

There is also a content rewrite button, but it didn’t always work. Sometimes it would just erase the selected text without rewriting it and other times it would rewrite the text but not be in-line with the original prompt.

SEO analysis is hit or miss

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most important things for the modern writer. Keyword strength, density, and frequency are all key considerations every writer thinks about. Because SEO is so important, it’s always good to see an AI writing program have an SEO analysis tool, like Writeseed does.

Unfortunately for Writeseed, their SEO tool is pretty inconsistent. In our tests, it regularly would fail to calculate keyword density and frequency as well as misstate whether a keyword was in every subheading.

Writeseed's SEO analyser

Overall, the SEO analysis tool isn’t as comprehensive as what you can get at bigger sites, but that comes with the territory of using a low-budget option, so we can’t judge them too harshly here. With that being said, even a low-budget tools should at least be consistent.

How does Writeseed work?

Like most AI writing tools, Writeseed uses OpenAI’s Generative Pre-Trained Transformer 3 (GPT-3.5)

OpenAI is widely recognized as the biggest and best AI company in the world. It was founded by a variety of Silicon Valley investors, including Elon Musk, in 2015. Their marquee product is their GPT-3.5 AI text generation model, so any program using it is using the best of the best available right now..

Pricing

Most other other companies have tiered plans relating to the number of words you expect to write each month. Writeseed is different. They have one plan that costs just $16 per month and unlimited content creation.

Writeseed's pricing

Languages

Writeseed can write content in four languages; English, German, French, and Spanish. This is more than enough for most people, but it is worth noting that four languages is significantly less than what’s offered at most other AI writing programs.

Free Trial

Writeseed has a 7-day free trial allowing you unlimited access to all 40+ Writeseed tools. One downside is that you need to give Writeseed your credit card information to use their free trial.

WordPress Plugin and Chrome Extension

Writeseed doesn’t have a WordPress plugin, but they do have a Google Chrome extension that is compatible with Twitter, Gmail, and many other sites besides WordPress.

Final thoughts

Writeseed is a great low-budget option that will be especially useful for blog writers and people who struggle with writer’s block. It’s not as strong as big sites like Jasper.ai, so we’re not sure if you can truly call it an alternative to some of the better known sites.

With that being said, Writeseed’s unlimited plan represents incredible value, so we still think it’s a great choice, even if it’s not quite the cream of the crop quality-wise.
